Bengaluru: Electronic City to Get a New Name Soon, Announces CM Siddaramaiah

Bengaluru’s Electronic City is set to be renamed soon, according to Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The announcement was made during the 109th birth anniversary celebration and award ceremony of Devaraj Urs, held at the Banquet Hall of Vidhana Soudha.

Previous Announcement The Chief Minister stated, “I had earlier announced that Electronic City would be renamed after Devaraj Urs. The process was delayed for various reasons. We will soon rename it as Devaraj Urs Electronic City.”

Recommendation to Central Government “We will discuss the renaming of Electronic City after Devaraj Urs at the earliest and recommend it to the Central Government,” he added. Electronic City is a major IT hub in India, housing several giant IT companies.
